Designing Women Inc.’s founding owner, Sally Bentley, has been building relationships with clients from across the globe for over 35 years. Sally, who has never met a stranger, considers her work very personal. She’s worked with many families through the generations, first designing the main house, then the downsized house, the vacation house, and then the children’s home as they grow to adults.
“We know people all over the world that by rights we should have never met. For me, it’s a beautifully designed space but more importantly it’s the relationships.”
Prior to establishing Designing Women Inc., Sally worked as creative director for Alderman Studios, an award-winning design studio. In this role, she created set designs for nationally recognized publications. Sally also has extensive experience in the hospitality and healthcare industries and has worked on corporate design projects for national and international companies. Under her leadership, Designing Women helped create the first 17 bed birthing center in Western, N.C. Her team has also completed numerous renovation projects for Catawba Valley Medical Center in Hickory, N.C., including a completely new emergency department, surgery center, physical therapy unit, and MRI center.
Sally’s work in the corporate world led to an opportunity for producing her own fabric lines for the medical industry, and today Designing Women has drapery and bedding workrooms which provide custom bedding and window treatments for clients across the globe. Sally often has the privilege of working directly with corporate presidents and CEO’s on their own personal home projects. Her team has worked with high profile clients such as NASCAR drivers, international diplomats, a top fuel drag racer, and a national law firm.
Sally is a registered/certified interior designer and a professional member of the American Society of Interior Design (ASID).
